In April 2008, we purchased a circa 1775 home in Lancaster, MA – known historically as the Joseph Maynard House.
The antique cape and attached barn were in need of a total renovation – from top to bottom.
This blog chronicles The Joseph Maynard Project through every step of process – through commentary and photos. We welcome you to read and comment as we continue on this journey.

1. Thanks for the post, i have been anxiously awaiting a new post/ distraction from work!
2. The house looks great, can't wait to come back and see it again soon!
Looks terrific.. we noticed the new paint on our way home the other day.
Your historical identification plaque looks wonderful also.
Makes it all worthwhile when you stand back and see that!

Brooke, it is really starting to come together. We can't wait to see it in person. Hopefully after the first of the year! By the way, I love the red front door. And, as always, Moses looks adorable!
I absolutely love what you did with this house! I used to live up the road from this house and always though it had potential, my parents still live by but a while ago when I drove by this house I was in shock....It looks amazing!
